·         In the 1900 United States Census, at 60 Alger Street in Cleveland, Ohio, Michael J. and Catherine Kane are living with their five children.  Michael was born in May 1860, is 40 years old, and works as a day laborer.  He and his parents were all born in Ireland.  Katherine is 39 and was born in May 1862 in Ireland, as were her parents.  They both immigrated in 1880, are naturalized, and have been in the USA for 20 years.  They have been married 17 years and have had 6 children, five of whom are still alive and all were all born in Ohio.  Mary was born May 1861, is 16 years old, and is a saleswoman.  Joseph was born May 1884, is 14 years old and attends school. Katherine was born Feb. 1889, is 11 years old, and also attends school.  Owen was born in June of 1890 and is 9 while James was born December 1897 and is 2 years old.  They rent their house.

·         In the 1910 United States Census, at  6109 Bridge Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, Michael J. and Catherine Kane are living with four of their children and their niece and nephew.  Michael works as a laborer, is 45 years old, and was born in Ireland as were his parents.  Catherine is 43 years old and was born in Ireland as were her parents.  There is no immigration information entered on the census.  They have been married 25 years and have six children, five of whom are still living (Thomas Joseph documented from the St. Malachi records died young).  All of their children were born in Ohio.  Mary is 24 years old and is a stenographer at an auto company.  Joseph is 22 years old and an foreman at a moldings company.  Catherine is 19 years old and a stenographer.  Owen J. is 18 years old and is a clerk for an auto maker.  Aloisis is 12 years old and is a student.  Their niece Florence is 7 and their nephew Joseph is 4, both are also students.

·         In the 1920 United States Census, at 6109 Bridge Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, Michael J. and Catherine Kane are living with two of their children and a niece and nephew.  Michael is retired, 60 years old, and was born in Ireland as were both of his parents.  Catherine is 58 years old and was born in Ireland as were her parents.  There is no immigration information entered on the census.  Their son Owen is 27 years old, was born in Ohio, and works as a singer.  Aloysius. is 21 years old, was born in Ohio, and works as an clerk in an auto factory.  Their niece Florence  is 18, born in Ohio and a clerk in an auto factory.  Her brother Joseph is 15 and works as an office boy for an elevator company.
